4.0 out of 5 stars Nice Pump Head, April 9, 2011

I've had my share of floor pumps over the years. This one has the nicest pump head of any of the ones I've used. It fits securely on stems with short exposure and comes off with no strain on the stem (a problem with some others I've had).
As another reviewer said, the pump is a little shorter than other floor pumps. It's a strange design decision. I can't imagine it would cost more that a few cents to produce the pump 3" longer. It's not too short as to be a real problem, but it is something you notice.
Another item I think is lacking (at this price point) is any means to lock the handle in the down position for storage or transport. Six more inches of hose would have allowed the hose to go over the handles and back down to the head clip, thus holding the handle in place.

Easy to use; no leakage at the valve interface; easy to read pressure gauge. I'm using it primarily on road bikes, Presta valves, 120 psi.

5.0 out of 5 stars Works great, October 3, 2011

This FP-200 pump has replaced an old bike pump from the mid-80's. And what a blessing it is. It's easy to use and pumps up tires in fewer strokes than my old pump. Although I considered getting the Serfas WFP-200 pump designed for women, I couldn't stand having a bike pump of that color scheme in the garage. (The pink barrel is bad enough, but flowers too? And that frilly lettering. Ugh.) This pump works great, no trouble with the height or the amount of effort required for each stroke for me. It also gets used once a week to keep the tires of a small car at their proper pressure: it takes only 7-8 strokes to put 1 pound of air in this car's tires. It threw me a little at first the way the pump head attaches to a tire stem because the lever lifts up to lock into position and then pushes down to release. But I've come to prefer this way, as it attaches to the tire stem securely and releases easily.

There's also attention to detail in the design. My favorite is that the... Read more
