I purchased this pump because I purchased my first bike with presta valves and high pressure tires, and my old pump couldn't reach the 125psi required of the bike. I did my due diligence on various pumps ... there were many futuristic looking plastic pumps out there that seemed to have good reviews. But Lezyne (interesting name ... I presume it rhymes with design, and maybe the company is owned by Mr. Lee) really got my attention with their top quality materials, and no-nonsense design. Now that I have the pump in hand, I am very happy with the purchase. Operation is smooth. The nicest thing about the pump is the valve attachment ... none of those cheesy quick release mechanisms for Lezyne -- they have a screw-on valve attachment that flips for Schroeder or Presta valves, and provides a very positive solid seal. The pump looks nice and somewhat retro (the tube is long and skinny, which I guess reduces effort in inflation). Materials are high quality throughout. It's better than... I'm very happy with this pump. With the wood handle, steel barrel and aluminum feet (no plastic), it's both attractive and durable. The gauge is at floor level, but it's large and easy enough to read, even for someone who's 6'4" and needs reading glasses. And it will fill my tires to 100 or 120 psi with less effort than any pump I've ever used (including a Topeak Joe Blow). But I especially like the screw-on valve head. Sure, it requires a little more work to attach and unattach the valve head (all of 2 seconds worth!), but it provides a MUCH more secure connection than pumps that rely on flexible plastic to make a seal. And if it matters to you (it does to me), the pump is made in Taiwan, not China.
