Much to my suprise, this is not a bad pump. It does what it's supposed to do. Feels solid yet it's very light. Much lighter than those expensive pumps with steel barrels. This one is light enough so that it can be carried or thrown in a backpack, whatever. This is a very good pump for the price and I'd recommend it. One day, after I had inflated two bicycle tires to 95 PSI and was almost done with a third tire, the pump's outlet valve exploded and shot out against the wall. From looking at the pieces, I figured out that the plastic outlet valve had melted, right in the middle, at the holes where the air exits into the hose. So it wasn't friction that had melted the plastic-- it was the heat of air compression. Lesson: a good pump has a metal outlet valve.
