It's not that this one doesn't work at all, but the way it works is a bit "out of control" for me.You turn-on the flow of CO2 by unscrewing a little bit. That's fine, but rather than have an actuator that pushes on the valve in the stem to make an open path into the tire, this unit relies on building up high pressure to force the valve open. So even though you unscrew it slowly to release the CO2, no CO2 goes into the tire at first. The pressure builds, and builds, until finally, the pressure is so high that it blasts CO2 into the tire. In the typical air pump, there is an actuator inside the filler nozzle that presses in the center of the tire stem, opening the tire valve, to allow air in without having to build up such high pressure. The way this works is probably fine for most typical uses, but I'd like to have more control than what this unit offers. I'm probably... But they are HUGE, taking up a lot of space, almost like a small pump. I've always been worried about the smaller inflators that have no control. Once you pierce the CO2 it's all over.This design is good. Small like a simple inflator, but allows control. You twist the CO2 on, and then back it off a bit to start the flow.
